Escalade is an improved fine-leaved, dense, dark green variety with excellent brown patch resistance and tolerance to traffic Escalade exhibts excellent turf quality in the 2001 NTEP tall fescue trials.
With the shade, heat, and drought tolerance of tall fescue, Escalade is an excellent choice for a wide variety of turf applications. Escalade is ideal for home lawns, parks, sports fields, sod production, golf course roughs and roadsides where a tough turf is needed.
Escalade requires less water than ryegrass or bluegrass because of its deep rooting habit. Escalade will thrive on low cutting heights of less than 1-1/2 inches in cooler climates, and provides excellent turf in all regions when cut at 3 inches.
